Child development support

The below links will take you where you need to go; whether it be identifying key milestones, logging nappy changes, accessing local sites for parenting, sleep information, weaning, and more! I've got you covered!

Having trouble locating the information you need? Feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns and I'll be more than happy to help you find what you're looking for.

I Feel… I Need

These sheets will help your little one identify their BIG feelings and figure out how they want you to help them get through it. Print them out and put them on a wall meeting your child’s eye line. Practice using the choices before emotions get too big, because at that point all logic goes out the window! You can model a big feeling and how to calm down by using one of the choices shown. The goal here is to show your little ones that it’s ok to have big feelings, and there are ways we can regulate them to feel better.

Feeding support

This link will take you to the NHS website where you'll find information on how to introduce food to your baby; acknowledging that this can be stressful and offering advice and support to help your baby develop a love of eating and trying new things.

Weaning from bottles to cups

This link will take you to the NHS page indicating what cups to use with your baby, when to introduce them, and why we don’t use bottles after babies reach 12months old.

Language Development

Learn about language development at each stage from birth to 3 years, and tips on how to create a language rich environment for your child/ren. Please remember that children progress and develop at different rates! If your child hasn’t quite reached a milestone at the “typical” point, it doesn’t mean that they won’t! Learning is not a race. If you have any concerns you can contact your child’s health visitor or ask the GP for guidance.

Developmental Schemas

Find out why your little one seems fascinated with throwing, climbing, patterns and more with these printable posters detailing developmental schemas your child will go through and when you might be able to expect it.

Developmental Milestones

Identify developmental milestones and the stages you may see them reached. Again, keep in mind all children develop at different paces, and if your child does not reach a milestone at the “typical” age, it is not cause for alarm. Milestones are reached in a range. If you have any concerns about your child’s development you can reach out to your child’s health visitor or ask your GP for guidance.

Play Based Learning

Children learn best through play. Here you can learn what your child is learning about when they participate in certain, seemingly nonsensical, actions or activities (such as dancing, making a mess, using loose parts..)

Sleep Solutions

Having trouble getting your little one to sleep though the night? Here are some tips and tricks to try to establish a great routine and safe sleep habits.
